While some courses feature guest speakers, many of our seminars and lectures are organized and presented by our own members. If you are interested in creating or participating in the presentation of a Vistas course, or if you would like more information about our presenters’ policies, click here to view our Instructors’ Handbook.
We expect our instructors to present a broad spectrum of intellectual views and alternative perspectives. Seminars must not consist of biased, one-sided political views or partisan agendas. The purpose of a Vistas presentation will not be the promotion of any product, service, or commercial enterprise. We also generally avoid “how-to” and personal development topics. We expect our courses to provide intellectual stimulation and to promote thought-provoking discussions among the participants.
Additional information and guidance is also available from members of the Vistas Curriculum Committee, many of whom have been successful presenters in the past. Potential courses are presented to and reviewed by the Curriculum Committee, and acceptance of a course proposal is at the discretion of the chair or co-chairs of the Curriculum Committee.
